south of
Manila.
According to

on this island
that is about

are 588

of
government).
The goal of
the
Assemblies

Philippines is
to have a

each

The island of Mindoro is divided down the
center by a mouintain range that is
impassable from east to west.  The
President has reserved the region for the 12
indiginous Manyang tribes who make their
home there.  These 12 groups of tribal
people are very timid and Spirit world
conscience.  When a person is close to
death they make a bed for them in the forest
and take care of them outside their homes.
Their belief is that when a person dies
inside the house the spirit of that person
may be lonely and want to take one of the
family members with them.  When a person
does die inside the house the whole
community leaves their homes and locate a
mile or more away and build new homes
and rice fields, in fear of the spirit in the
house taking them with them!

The Mangyang tribes have been largely
untouched by outside people.  When the
Spanards, Japanese, Chinese and
Americans came the Mangyang just fled
futher in the bush and higher up the
mountains to hide in fear that these people
were spirits coming to snatch them away
from their families.
